v0.beta.2 — Omens
NewImprovedBug VanquishedUnder the Hood
New
- •The oracle: ask the world an uncertain question (is the door locked?) and a server-rolled answer binds the story and stays true, logged like any other roll
- •The story can surprise you: random events woven from the characters and threads already in your session
- •Named characters remember: they watch what you do, recall how you spoke to them, and their warmth or grudge bends your social rolls and how they receive you next scene
- •Shield is a true reaction: when a hit lands and you can cast it, the game pauses at the moment of impact and offers the choice
- •A new adventure: The Mournfen Bells, a rural folk-horror one-shot under a cracked bell
- •The Guidebook: what the game is, how to talk to your game master, and how the dice really work, at /guide
- •This Chronicle: release notes now live here, cut by cut
- •Consumables arrive: healing potions, alchemist’s fire, holy water, and a Use Item action in combat
Improved
- •Enemy HP is visible in combat, so you can see how close a foe is to falling
- •Monsters fight by their stat blocks: resistances and immunities, Pack Tactics, Martial Advantage, Magic Resistance, and Undead Fortitude
- •After a fight you get real next steps: search the bodies, take a short rest, press on, with a Spend a Hit Die button when you are wounded
- •Character creation grew up: illustrated class cards, a preview of what you will wield, racial traits on the sheet, and a full summary before you begin
- •Your hero is seen: race, pronouns, and appearance reach the narration, so the barkeep finally notices the dwarf walking in
- •Story characters keep their names hidden until you actually learn them in-fiction
- •The lobby wears the landing page’s atmosphere, and every adventure card now ships with painted art
- •Deleting your account now truly erases your data everywhere we store it, with an audit trail
Bug Vanquished
- •Loosing an arrow in free text uses your bow and your Dexterity, not a phantom melee swing
- •Short rests actually heal, and the Hit Die roll shows in your log
- •Typed spell attacks like Fire Bolt roll and resolve in combat, and a missed spell never shows damage
- •Sleep works by the book: it pools 5d8 and puts the lowest foes down instead of dealing damage
- •Effects that grant advantage on saves (Dwarven Resilience and kin) now actually grant it
- •Great Weapon Fighting rerolls 1s and 2s on damage dice, shown in the roll log
Under the Hood
- •During beta, signup is limited to players 18 and older, matching the Guidebook FAQ
- •Site reliability monitoring across every page, and a release process that keeps this Chronicle honest
